Assam: SECI tenders 70 MW of Solar project

SECI has released a tender, on behalf of Assam Power Generation Corporation Ltd (APGCL), Guwahati, Assam, for setting up of 70 MW grid-connected solar PV project in a single capacity in the state of Assam.

The project will be developed under a “Build-Own-Operate” (BOO) basis at Amguri Solar Park, Amguri, located in the Sivasagar district of Assam. BOO is a project model under which a private entity receives a concession from the private or public sector, or government to finance, design, construct, own, and operate a solar facility.

SECI has fixed the maximum tariff payable to INR 3.43 ($0.053)/kWh under 25-year Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). The power generated from the plants will be sold to the Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL).

The power plants interconnection with the grid will be provided by the State/Central Transmission Utility or DISCOM. The selected power developer should finish the project within 12 months of the effective date of PPA.

Bid submissions are due on March 14, 2018.

SECI has also advised prospective bidders to visit the solar park before the pre-bid meeting.
