Exploring the storage sector
Such efforts are intended to accelerate the growth of solar in the state and across the country. Telangana is one of the leading states in terms of solar power capacity, and is now planning to explore technologies related to storage.
The peak electricity demands of the state arrive in the morning when solar energy production is low, but by the afternoon Telangana produces almost 1,720 MW of PV electricity, out of an installed capacity of 3,250 MW, according to officials of the Telangana government. Hence, they are exploring storage options to better utilize this total solar power capacity, reports suggest.
