The state government of Uttar Pradesh has big plans for solar. It is planning to set up solar energy capacity of 10.7 GW over the next 5 years. Amplus energy solutions announced that it has signed an MoU with the UP-state government to set up solar capacity of 500 MW, reported the Energy World of the Economic times.
The company would invest INR 22 billion over the time period of five years. Amplus has some experience of solar projects in UP, with its major project of rooftop plant for Yamaha Motors India.
With this investment will give a boost to solar installations in UP. Sanjeev Aggarwal, Managing Director & CEO, Amplus energy said,” With the new solar energy policy of 2017, we are looking at rapid expansion of solar power capacity in the state. We are committed to install solar capacity of 500 MW in the state in the next 5 years.”
