President of France to inaugurate 75 MW solar plant in Uttar Pradesh

French President Emmanuel Macron will inaugurate the 75 MW solar PV power plant, located at Dadar Kala village in Mirzapur district, Uttar pradesh during his proposed visit on March 12, the Hindustan Times reported.

Mirzapur district magistrate Bimal Kumar Dubey confirmed the development to the local newspaper.

“French President Macron will arrive at the solar power plant at Dadar Kala in a helicopter. He will inaugurate the plant and address locals. He is likely to spend around 45 minutes at the plant. After the inaugural ceremony, he will fly to Varanasi,” Dubey said.

Mentioning the solar plant as the largest solar power plant of the state, has been set up by a French company, Engie Solar. Tushar Malik, construction head of the company, said the solar power plant at Dadar Kala village is all set to generate 75 MW AC and 101 MW DC.

The French President visit to India is considered as a significant partnership between the two countries in renewable energy sector. Since Emmanuel Macron will also be present at the founding ceremony of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), accompanying by Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi to be held on March 11 at Rashtrapathi Bhavan Cultural Centre (RBCC), New Delhi. Both the leaders has started this initiative during the Paris agreement  for climate change in 2015.
