UP KVIB floats Rs 36.7m tender for solar spinning wheels

Only manufacturers of solar charkhas empanelled with Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Mumbai, are eligible to bid in the tender. Complete solar charkhas with full fittings and equipment will carry warranties of at least one year.

All the items are to be delivered within 45 days from the date of issue in the delivery schedule. Manufacturers will also be expected to provide free maintenance on the spot for periods of one year from the date of installation.

Technical specifications for the solar kits include single 12V/200 Wp solar panels, 12 V/120 AH lead-acid tubular-plate flooded-electrolytes or gel/VRLA type batteries, 12 V/20 A PWM control units, 7 W white LED (two units), additional 12 V output ports for coupling accessories such as mobile chargers, and 12 V permanent-magnet DC motors with 45-50 W consumption, as well as a minimum of eight hours of operation time.

Bidders are required to deposit Rs 367,500 as bank guarantees. The deadline for bid submissions is June 20. Bids will open on June 26.
