Visaka Industries installs solar rooftop on pushcarts

Telangana-based sustainable product developer Visaka Industries has demonstrated the benefits of its ATUM integrated solar rooftop for pushcarts as well. Said to be ideal for homes, complexes, malls, offices, factories and warehouses, the ATUM integrated solar roofing system serves all the functions of a traditional roof, whilst generating energy.

The company installed a total of 18 pushcarts with ATUM, demonstrating its benefits to vegetable vendors. These smart carts are capable of generating 1-1.5 units of electricity per day. With four hours of sunlight, the 320W ATUM solar panels generate 1280W—enough to power a light bulb, a fan and a mobile phone for 10.6 hours.

Costing a total of Rs 7,20,000, all the 18 smart carts were donated to vegetable vendors in Hyderabad.

Speaking on this occasion, Vamsi Gaddam, joint managing director of Visaka Industries said, “The creation and distribution of ATUM smart cart is a testimony of our commitment to creating a sustainable living for our future generations. Smart cart is a fully functional solar cart that can generate electricity. The company will continue donating smart carts to the budding local vendors.”

The ATUM smart cart is not for commercialization but is designed only for charity purpose.

Founded in 1983, Visaka Industries Limited has multiple product portfolios ranging hybrid solar roofs to corrugated cement sheets, fiber cement boards and manmade fiber yarn.
