Madhya Pradesh tenders 32 MW rooftop solar projects

Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited has invited bids for implementation of more than 32 MWp of grid-connected rooftop solar projects—under RESCO model (capital expenditures covered by the installer)—for sale of solar power to the industries located in the Industrial Area of Mandideep.

The projects may be installed in either one or combination of the following two categories: Grid-connected net-metered systems; and grid-connected systems for consumption within premises with no export of power.

The total capacity is divided into multiple packages of around 4 MW each, which shall be allotted through e-bidding followed by e-reverse auction. The upper ceiling tariff is fixed at Rs5.50/unit for the first year. Bidders are required to deposit bank guarantee of Rs12 lakh per MW.

To be eligible, the bidder should have minimum net worth of Rs1 crore per MWp. So for a package of exactly 4 MW, the net worth required is Rs4 crore.

The selected developers shall be responsible for design, engineering, finance, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the solar projects. They shall also provide comprehensive operation and maintenance for the project’s 25 operational years.

Both domestically produced and imported solar modules are allowed.

If the procurer wants battery storage, it would need to pay separately for such an arrangement, and associated change in design and civil and electrical works. Such arrangement would not affect the tariff discovered for sale of power.
