In order to fulfil its renewable purchase obligation, Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML)—the largest power distributor in Mumbai—intends to procure 350 MW of power from wind-solar hybrid projects to be awarded through international competitive bidding process followed by reverse auction. It may procure another 350 MW of power under Greenshoe option.

The selected power developer shall have to arrange for land, connectivity and long-term open access for the hybrid power project.

AEML shall enter into power purchase agreement (PPA) with the selected developers for a period of 25 years from the commercial operation date. The projects must be commissioned within 12 months from the signing date of PPA.

A single developer can bid for the entire capacity of 700 MW, but selection of 350 MW capacity under Greenshoe option shall be at AEML’s discretion. Minimum project size shall be 50 MW.

The projects are required to be designed for interconnection with transmission network of central transmission utility or state transmission utility at voltage level of 220 kV or above.

Further, cells and modules used in the projects must be sourced only from the models and manufacturers included in the “Approved List of Models and Manufacturers” as published by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
