Central Electronics Ltd now tenders for supply of monocrystalline solar cells

Share

Following a tender for 500,000 quantities of multicrystalline (non-perc) solar cells, state-owned Central Electronics Limited (CEL) has invited bids for supply of 5-busbar monocrystalline (non-perc) solar cells. The cells must provide an efficiency of minimum 18.8%.

To be eligible, the bidder should have a minimum of 100 MW per annum in-house monocrystalline solar cells manufacturing capacity.

The solar cells should be 156.75×156.75 mm±0.25 mm or 157×157 mm±0.25 mm in size, with cell thickness of 200±20 microns. Further, these must feature 5 busbars, with front busbar having a width of 0.8+0.2 mm and back busbar 1.5+0.3 mm. Cells with uniform silicon nitride anti-reflection coating are allowed.

The supplier shall confirm that the modules manufactured using its cells conform to IEC 61215/IS 14286, IEC 61730 and IEC 62804 standards.

The cells will be checked for all the specifications on sample basis. Bidders who are not in the approved vendor list of CEL are required to supply a sample lot of minimum 200 cells for testing by CEL.

“Modules will be manufactured using the accepted cells and glass having optical loss of approximately 2% and transmittance of 91%. The total power produced by the modules shall be 2% less than the arithmetic summation of the power of all individual cells used therein. In case this is not met, the lot of cells shall be rejected”—reads the tender document.

Further, CEL reserves the right to split the quantity and award between two or more vendors as per the production or project requirement.

The cells are to be delivered as per CEL’s requirement in staggered lots up to November 10, 2019. In the event of delay in delivery, a reduction in the price shall be levied at 0.5% of the total order value per week or part thereof subject to maximum 5% of the total order value.
