Under Phase-II of Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India (FAME II) Scheme, Assam State Transport Corporation has invited proposals from eligible operators and bus manufacturers for supply, operation and maintenance of 100 electric buses in the cities of Guwahati, Silchar and Jorhat. The bus operator will be awarded the contract on gross cost basis.
Bidding is open to single bidders (original equipment manufacturers, operators or aggregators), joint ventures and consortia having maximum two members.
To be eligible, the joint venture or consortium must include an OEM member and must have minimum annual turnover of INR 150 crore in any three of the immediately preceding four financial years ending March 31, 2019. Further, it should have a minimum positive net worth of INR 50 crore in each of the last four financial years ending March 31, 2019.
The OEM vehicle manufacturer shall have manufacturing facilities in India, with annual manufacturing capacity of 400 buses and experience in manufacturing of electric or diesel/CNG buses over the last 4 financial years.
Further, the bidder or consortium/joint venture should have operation experience or combined ownership and operation experience of at least 25 electric/diesel/CNG buses per year in India for at least 2 years in any of the last 4 years.
e-buses sanctioned under FAME II
To give a push to clean mobility in public transportation, the Department of Heavy Industry under Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises has sanctioned 5595 electric buses for intra-city and intercity operation under Phase-II of Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India (FAME II) Scheme.
These include 5095 electric buses to 64 cities/state transport corporations for intra-city operation; 400 electric buses for intercity operation; and 100 electric buses for last-mile connectivity to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
