Larsen & Toubro has secured an order to design and construct a 50 MW solar plant in Tamil Nadu, in addition to significant contracts in India and overseas for power transmission and distribution.

In Bangladesh, the business has won a turnkey order for design, supply, installation and commissioning of power transmission infrastructure for the 800 MW Rupsha power plant.

An order to build 220kV Substations in Nepal has been received.

In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, L&T will establish 380kV and 230kV transmission line corridors.

Additional orders have been received for ongoing transmission line jobs in India.

Last month, Larsen & Toubro secured an order to build a 20 MW grid-connected floating solar power project at a reservoir of NTPC‘s Auraiya Gas Power Plant in Uttar Pradesh.

L&T’s scope of work for the Uttar Pradesh project includes design, engineering, manufacturing, installation and commissioning, as well as site-grading. It shall also provide comprehensive operation and maintenance of the plant for a period of three years from the date of completion.

The plant is tendered under Open category, allowing use of solar modules and cells of any origin.

Among other projects, in December Larsen & Toubro secured an empanelment and rate contract in Maharashtra to provide off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems with standalone lighting systems. These systems—to be deployed for farmers in the Aurangabad, Nashik and Pune revenue divisions—will have provision for mobile charging, transfer of automated meter reading and water discharge reading data.
