Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won large EPC orders on the domestic and international fronts to establish solar plants totaling more than 500 MW. The work for these grid-connected power plants also entails setting up related power evacuation and interconnection systems.

In addition, the company has won significant contracts in India and overseas for power transmission and distribution.

In Kuwait, L&T has bagged an order to upgrade substations and related power facilities in the Kuwait National Petroleum Company’s Mina Al Ahmadi oil refinery. The revamped network of distribution substations with latest technology will enhance reliability of power supply and facilitate expansion.

Among other projects, the business has won orders for a 400 kV grid station in Oman and a 220 kV gas insulated substation in Egypt.

In India orders have been secured to strengthen the urban HT distribution network in Chennai, including setting up of fully automated, unmanned 33 kV gas insulated substations at select locations, and to supply and install medium-voltage capacitor banks with related accessories under different discoms in Uttar Pradesh.
