China’s JinkoSolar the biggest module supplier to India in first quarter

China’s JinkoSolar Holding has announced it ranked as the biggest PV module supplier to India for the period January to March 2020 in a report published by JMK Research & Analytics.

The quarterly report, RE Update Q1 2020, ranked domestic and international module suppliers based on their shipments to India. JinkoSolar has secured number one position among both domestic and international suppliers.

Speaking about the achievement, Daniel Liu, Managing Director, South Asia & Central Asia, JinkoSolar, “We achieved this milestone during tough times of Covid-19 in China. It is a result of our excellent supply chain management.”

Notably, all the JinkoSolar modules shipped to India are based on mono PERC technology.

Liu continued, “All shipments in Q1 2020 are Mono PERC technology, comprising Full Cell and Half Cell modules. This underlines the success of our efforts to lead the market transition towards Mono PERC technology in India.”

Sharing further details of Q1 2020 shipment, Liu said, “JinkoSolar has balanced approach towards utility, commercial & industrial (C&I) and distributed generation segments. Our customers are utility-scale independent power producers and EPCs, open-access solar project developers, captive consumers and medium-scale and rooftop solar EPCs, spread across India. It reflects wide acceptance of our Cheetah series by our customers for various applications.”

JinkoSolar has been introducing on regular basis new technology modules (460 Wp and 580 Wp) in India to meet its untapped and new market demands.
