State-owned engineering major Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has invited bids for supply and commissioning of string monitoring boxes with wireless communication for a 20 MW solar project by NTPC. A total of 104 quantities are required of 16-string combiner boxes designed for maximum 20 A current per string (fuse and fuse link rating shall be rated for minimum 30A) and string voltage of 1500V.
The devices should be rated for at least IP65 (mated) degree of protection, and all the components in the combiner boxes shall be designed for operation within temperature range of 0-70 degrees Celsius.
The mounting structure for installation of the combiner boxes onto the module mounting structures will be supplied by BHEL.
To be eligible, the bidder should be an original equipment manufacturer and should have supplied minimum 100 numbers of string monitor boxes (1500V grade, 16-in (minimum)/1-out) with wireless communication for solar power plants in India during the last three years.
