Tender for 7.5 MWp of grid-connected rooftop solar in Andaman

The Ministry of Power‘s Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) unit has invited bids to install an aggregate 7.5 MWp of grid-connected rooftop solar generation capacity on various buildings in the union territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Of the tendered capacity, 64% (4.755 MW) will be installed on Middle Andaman and the balance (2.68 MW) on North Andaman.

The arrays—to be developed on the capital expenditure, upfront payment model—will be installed as 5, 10 and 15 kWp systems and the scope of work includes design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning, plus ten years of operations and maintenance.

Domestic content requirements of the tender stipulate only Indian-made modules can be used and that 40% of other components, such as inverters, must also be sourced from India.

Bidders must have had an average annual turnover of at least INR4.96 crore for the last three fiscal years, to participate in the 2.68 MW North Andaman exercise, and INR8.8 crore for the Middle Andaman project. To be eligible for both, developers must have had at least 13.76 crore of annual turnover in the last three years.
