Gujarat tenders 500 MW of solar

Share

State-owned utility Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd has invited bids from developers to set up 500 MW of grid-connected solar projects in the state. The power company is offering 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) to selected bidders.

Developers – to be selected through competitive bidding and a reverse auction – will compete for generation lots of at least 25 MW and will be responsible for transmission network infrastructure up to the point of delivery into the grid.

Bidders can select the location of their projects and substations from an available-capacity list on the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO) website.

Solar projects can be installed next to grid-connected wind farms provided there is spare capacity at the nearest GETCO or Central Transmission Utility substation.

Plants which have already been commissioned, or are under construction, can also participate in the auction provided they have not already signed a long-term PPA with an offtaker.

Bidding closes on October 28 and bids will be opened on November 4.
