State-owned engineer Central Electronics Limited (CEL) has invited bids to supply 1.5 million multi-crystalline PERC solar cells. The devices must feature five busbars and offer conversion efficiency of at least 19.6%.
Only Indian manufacturers and their authorized vendors are eligible to bid, with the cells to be supplied in lots up to March 31 as per CEL’s requirement.
The cells should measure 157mm2 with a permissible variance of 0.25mm above or below that figure and have a thickness of 200 microns, plus or minus 20 microns. Front busbars should be at least 0.8mm wide, plus or minus 0.2mm, and the back busbars 1.5mm, with 0.3mm permissible either way.
The bidding companies must have a minimum annual multi-crystalline cell production capacity of 100 MW. Those not listed as CEL-approved vendors will be required to provide a sample of at least 200 cells.
