NTPC invites proposals for solarization projects in ISA member countries

State-owned power generator NTPC has invited an expression of interest (EOI) to execute solarization projects in member countries of the International Solar Alliance (ISA).

The projects are to be implemented across categories like solar-powered cold storage (with a 5MT capacity), solar water pumps for agricultural purpose (1 to 5 HP), solar-powered RO water systems (5000 LPD), off-grid solar PV systems for primary health care centers (5-6 kW with battery energy storage system), and a combination thereof.

The call for proposals is open to Indian applicants and applicants from member countries of ISA.

The objective is “to assess the market response from the vendors/parties to determine further course of action in procurement of goods and services for solarization projects. This can be through long-term tie-up, memorandum of understanding, etc or by any combination thereof,” according to the EoI document.

The selected applicants are required to execute solarization projects on a turnkey basis. The work includes engineering, supply, erection, commissioning and warranty/maintenance support for three years.

ISA has engaged NTPC as an implementation partner/project management consultant as it intends to implement solar demonstration projects in member countries (47 least developed countries and small-island developing states) through the technical and financial assistance of approximately US$ 3 million.

NTPC will provide end-to-end support to ISA by coordinating and supervising the projects starting from need assessment to the final commissioning and handing over the project to member countries.
