Gujarat opens tender for 110 MW of grid-connected solar plants

Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) has invited bids to set up an aggregate 110 MW of grid-connected solar power plants across three substations of the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO). Bidding closes on September 16.

New cathode for sustainable, high-density lithium-sulfur batteries 

Shiv Nadar University researchers have synthesized sulfur-rich copolymers from petroleum and agricultural waste as cathode materials for Lithium-Sulfur (Li-S) batteries. IIT-Bombay, which is developing a Li-S battery prototype based on the technology, recorded an average Coulombic efficiency of 99.3% after 500 cycles at 1C, one hour rate of charge and discharge, for the cardanol/sulfur copolymer cathode containing 2.5wt% reduced graphene oxide (rGO).

Solar-powered hydrogen under $2/kg by 2030

Researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have identified sites where hydrogen could be produced via PV electrolysis at prices ranging from $1.90/kg to $4.20/kg in the United States by the end of the decade.

Greenko, NTPC sign MoU for round-the-clock power supply

Uttarakhand’s Pant University to get a 2.2 MW rooftop solar plant

Bids are invited to install a 2,285 kWp grid-connected rooftop solar system at G.B. Pant University Of Agriculture And Technology. The plant is to be set up under the RESCO model. Ceiling tariff for over 25 years is fixed at Rs 3.5/kWh.

Flipkart plans complete transition to electric vehicles by 2030

Epsilon Carbon to make graphite anode materials for Lithium-ion batteries

The coal tar derivates company has commissioned a 5000-tonne per annum facility to manufacture synthetic graphite anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. It plans to invest US$ 70 million (Rs 520 crore) over the next five years to increase this capacity to 50,000 tonnes.
