Gujarat-based developer KPI Global has announced the signing of long-term power supply agreements with textile manufacturer Ginni Filaments Limited and paper manufacturer Sankalp Paper Industries Private Limited.

Under the agreement, the developer will sell 1.2 MW solar power to Ginni Filaments Limited and 1.3 MW to Sankalp Paper Industries for 20 years each as an independent power producer.

Noida-headquartered Ginni Filaments has a state-of-the-art facility for technical textiles and nonwovens in the Bharuch district of Gujarat. The plant capacity is 12,000 metric tonnes per annum, and it can produce a wide variety of roll goods.

Sankalp Paper Industries also has its paper mill located in Gujarat.

KPI Global’s latest agreements follow its December pact with chemicals company Sajjan India Limited, Ankleshwar, for the sale of 2.5 MW solar power for 20 years under the independent power producer business vertical.

KPI added 25.762 MW as an independent power producer in the year 2019-20, up 172% from the previous year—taking the cumulative capacity to 40.762 MW. The developer’s cumulative ‘captive mode’ portfolio stood at 6.2 MW.
