Telecommunications Consultants India has issued an expression of interest to select EPC installation partners as it intends to bid for 5 GW of grid-connected solar power projects tendered by the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA).

The 5 GW capacity is tendered under the second phase of the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme, which aims to install 12 GW of solar capacity to generate power for public entities.

The CPSU scheme mandates use of solar photovoltaic cells and modules manufactured domestically and awards projects to government producers with viability gap funding (VGF) as the bidding criteria.

As per TCIL’s EoI, installers can quote for any amount of capacity from 50 MW to 5 GW depending upon their qualification. They are required to declare the estimated capital cost for the capacity bid-out for; the estimated cost shall be calculated as (A x B) crore rupees where A is the total number of megawatts the bidder is quoting for (minimum being 50 MW) and B is INR 6.0585 crore.

The technically qualified bidder selected by this EOI shall sign a consortium agreement to bid with TCIL for the CPSU capacity exclusively.
