NTPC enlisting EPC bidders for ground-mount and floating solar plants

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd. (NVVN), the power trading arm of NTPC Ltd, plans to enlist EPC bidders for its upcoming ground-mount and floating solar projects of below 10 MW capacity and also for projects ranging from 10 MW up to 50 MW capacity. The firm has already identified several Greenfield projects in various parts of the country. The feasibility of the execution of few more projects is being explored. 

The enlisted bidders will be invited to bid in NVVN tenders for these solar power projects. This enlistment shall be valid for one year with a provision for further extension up to one year.

The brief scope of work for the solar projects includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of the PV plant for three years.

The floating solar plants’ scope includes the supply of floaters, installation, anchoring, fixing of floaters for SPV panels, corresponding to the required capacity also.

Eligibility criteria

To apply for 10MW-50MW capacities, the bidder should have installed and commissioned—either as an EPC player or developer—a cumulative grid-connected solar capacity of a minimum 8 MWp. Out of this capacity, at least one plant should have been a minimum 2 MWp. The reference plant of 2 MWp or higher capacity must have been in successful operation for at least six months before the last date of submission of application for enlistment.

Or, it should have executed in the last ten years an industrial project, either as a developer or EPC contractor, in power/steel/oil and gas/petrochemical/ fertilizer/cement/coal mining or any other process industry, of a minimum INR 400 million value in a single project. The reference plant should be in successful operation for at least one year before the last date of submission of application for enlistment. Besides, it should have executed at least one electrical sub-station of a minimum 33 kV, which should be in successful operation for at least one year.

For below 10 MW projects, the bidder should have installation and commissioning experience for a cumulative installed solar capacity of 800 kWp or higher, out of which at least one plant should have been of 100 kWp or higher capacity.

Or, it should have executed in the last ten years an industrial project, either as a developer or EPC contractor, in power/steel/oil and gas/petrochemical/fertilizer/cement/coal mining or any other process industry, of a minimum INR 40 million value in a single project. The reference plant should be in successful operation for at least one year before the last date of submission of application for enlistment. Besides, it should have executed at least one electrical sub-station of a minimum 11 kV, which should be in successful operation for at least one year.
