Coal India Limited’s arm Mahanadi Coalfields Limited has invited bids to set up a 50 MW AC (75 MW DC) solar power plant in ‘design-build-demonstrate-transfer’ mode.
The selected bidder will be responsible for the entire engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) work, including acquisition and handover of encumbrance-free land to Mahanadi Coalfields Limited as well as five-year operation and maintenance of the project for five years.
The produced energy will be utilized for captive consumption of the Mahanadi Coalfields Limited through long-term open access by entering into a 25-year agreement with Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited/State transmission utility as per the prevailing guidelines of Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission.
The project can be situated anywhere in Odisha with appropriate connectivity to the state transmission network.
