Delhi Metro to install rooftop solar on depot sheds

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (DMRC) has invited bids to set up an aggregate 2 MW of rooftop solar capacity on its depot sheds and other elevated depot structures. The projects, to be installed in RESCO model, are proposed for the following DMRC sites: Ajronda depot 400 kWp; Noida Electronic City Stabling Line (480 kWp); Shastri Park Depot (450 kWp); Najafgarh Depot (460 kWp); and other locations (210 kWp).

Projects may be set up in sizes of 10 kWp to 400 kWp or more on each rooftop unit of the proposed sites. These can separately connect with the grid and may have separate energy meters.

The installer’s scope of work includes design, engineering, supply, erection of the suitable structure, installation, testing, and commissioning of the rooftop solar project, including operation and comprehensive maintenance for 25 years.

The project completion period is 12 months from the issue of the allocation letter. The maximum allowable levellized tariff is INR 4.00 per kWh.
