Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEB Ltd) has invited bids to implement floating solar projects in its eight existing reservoirs of hydroelectric projects and two reservoirs of Kerala Water Authority. The plants are to be installed on design, build, own and operate mode for a period of 25 years, and will be awarded on tariff-based bidding. The bidders must quote for a minimum of 100 MW involving at least three reservoir sites

KSEB will provide the required possible area assessed by the developers for the installation of floating solar power plants.

The main scope of the bidder is to assess the potential of the grid-connected floating solar plant at each reservoir without affecting the hydel tourism activities if any. It also includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the plants with operation and maintenance and the evacuation of the power and its transmission up to the nearest substation.

KSEBL will provide the required possible area assessed by the developers for the installation of floating solar power plants. It will sign the power purchase agreement (PPA) with the solar power developer for 25 years subject to a tariff approved by KSERC.
