SmartHelio, a Big Data clean energy intelligence company based out of Switzerland, has promoted Neeraj Dasila, head of Technology & Operations, to the position of chief technology officer (CTO). Shankaransh Srivastava, head of global business development at SmartHelio, has been appointed as vice president-marketing at the company.
“SmartHelio has been growing rapidly in the last two years especially in 2021. Neeraj has been driving tech development. Under his leadership, SmartHelio launched several technologies including edge computing and forecasting. Neeraj’s deep understanding of clean technology will certainly help the company,” said CEO Govinda Upadhyay.
As CTO, Neeraj will lead various research initiatives of the company and set the directions of the new development. He will be largely responsible for converting the company’s vision into action plans, and strategically building the technology roadmap for transforming ideas into tangible products and services.
Previously, Neeraj has worked with TATA at their connected car division leading the Internet of Things (IoT) segment. He also led various projects on energy and data at the highest government level while working at Indian government think tank NITI Aayog. An IIT Bombay alumnus, Neeraj has a specialization in Electrical Engineering.
Shankaransh, as vice president-Marketing, will head SmartHelio’s marketing and branding efforts. His responsibilities will include building the company’s marketing and global expansion strategy, new market research, PR relations, continuously optimizing return on investment (ROI), as well as managing and developing the marketing team which stands true to the company’s vision and values.
“We recognize marketing as a key aspect of our business. Shankaransh is already driving our sales efforts. He has a deep understanding of the clean energy markets globally. He will help us to create a powerful and trustworthy brand in the domain of deep data analytics and artificial intelligence,” said CEO Govinda Upadhayay.
Shankaransh, so far, was handling the global business development for SmartHelio. His consistent efforts have helped the company to launch and expand into prominent markets including Europe, Asia, and the US.
With an MS degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Tech and specialization in renewable energy, Shankaransh started his career with solar EPCs and developers in the USA serving in many roles ranging from design engineering, asset management to managing sales. An educator at heart, Shankaransh was selected by Washington DC’s Department of Energy and Environment for their ‘Solar For All’ program to teach the basics of solar PV technology to the DC low-income residents. He has also taught Solar Engineering and Solar Sales classes at a community college in Virginia as an Adjunct Faculty.
