Adani Solar, the solar manufacturing arm of Adani Group, has launched its retail distribution business in Tamil Nadu with Festa Solar as the channel partner for the region. With this, Adani Solar has now extended its reach to more than 2,500 towns for the distribution of solar panels in India.

Adani Solar aims to rapidly penetrate and capitalize on Tamil Nadu’s renewable energy market through this partnership with Festa Solar. “This will be a step towards facilitating the switch to sustainable solar power solutions at an economical rate, a change that is expected to benefit residential consumers and commercial establishments in the region greatly,” stated the company.

The Tamil Nadu government is promoting solar power across the state through rooftop and the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan Yojana (KUSUM) schemes. Adani Solar sees a 500MW opportunity for its panels within these segments in the region. Its off-grid panels will help consumers mitigate the risks of power cuts, while on-grid panels will assist in reducing electricity costs.

Rahul Bhutiani, head–sales and marketing, Adani Solar, said, “The Indian renewable energy sector has witnessed tremendous success in the installation and supply of solar power. India is a growing economy with remarkable growth potential. We will be offering power facilities via solar panel distribution to customers at competitive rates for applications in the Tamil Nadu market. This region has enormous investment opportunities in renewable energy. As the authorized channel partner of Adani Solar, Festa Solar will be responsible for all the solar retail requirements in the region.”

Bhutiani added, “Adani Solar will target 50% market share [on the retail front]. We look forward to achieving higher reach and visibility for our product nationally by increasing power consumption through alternative forms of energy like solar energy.”

Adani Solar, the only manufacturer with IEC 2016 certification in all SKUs, has rapidly expanded its retail presence across the country. Through its retail channel partners, the company has a sizeable presence in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Manipur Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Tripura.

Adani Solar has 3.5 GW of PV solar cell and module manufacturing capacity in Mundra, Gujarat, producing high-efficiency multi, mono PERC, and bifacial modules. The Mundra plant is being expanded to host the entire solar manufacturing ecosystem from polysilicon to modules, including ancillaries and supporting utilities.
