GreenPowerMonitor provides tech for solar-plus-storage project in Gujarat

Share

GreenPowerMonitor, a unit of DNV, has supplied a set of integrated solutions for a solar-and-storage power system in the town of Modhera, Gujarat. The solutions include onsite control, monitoring, data management, and display functions for a hybrid project that will provide 24/7 electricity to the town.

The hybrid power project features a 6 MW solar plant, coupled with 15 MWh of battery storage. Mahindra Susten is developing the project with GreenPowerMonitor’s power plant controller (PPC) and energy management system (EMS) solutions.

PPC and EMS are master controllers enabling the different automatic and manual controls of a project. This architecture facilitates complex control of renewable energy sites, allowing black start, islanding, anti-islanding, energy shifting, state of charge (SOC) management and balancing, and frequency and voltage support.

The GreenPowerMonitor solution will integrate and monitor 271 rooftop solar systems, each 1 kW in size, on residential buildings in Modhera. It will also include 1,610 smart meters, an electric vehicle charging station, and third-party systems.
