Premier Group’ arm Premier Energies Photovoltaic has received LEED Gold Certification by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) for its solar manufacturing facility at E-city in Telangana.

“The company has been conferred with Gold rating under the LEED v4 Building Design and Construction: New Construction and Major Renovations. This is a testament to Premier Energy’s focus on high quality and reliable energy solutions,” the company stated.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), developed by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), signifies a certification that is used widely to rate buildings and project types. It provides a framework for healthy, efficient, carbon and cost-saving green buildings.

Premier’s now Gold Certified E-City solar factory has a manufacturing capacity of 1.4 GW of solar modules and 750 MW of solar cells. The company is set to commission a new manufacturing line in December 2022, with a production capacity of 2.4 GW of solar modules and 1.25 GW of cells.

Premier Energies E-City facility was awarded Gold certification based on parameters such as 80% reduction in water use by capturing, recharging, and reusing rainwater runoff from site; 32% energy efficiency through better energy saving measures on lighting, HVAC and fan powers; and recycling of 90% of waste generated from the construction.

The company aims to design energy-conscious net-zero buildings by 2025 to produce and supply energy with minimal consumption and zero carbon emissions.
