Tata Power targets 10 GW of renewables portfolio in Rajasthan in next five years

Tata Power aims to increase its renewable power generation portfolio in Rajasthan to 10 GW in the next five years. So far, the company has invested into around 5 GW of renewables portfolio in the state, out of which around 2 GW of projects are already operational. The balance 3 GW of solar projects are under different stages of construction and set for commissioning in the next 12-24 months, said Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD, Tata Power, while speaking at Invest Rajasthan 2022 summit.

Sinha said Tata Power will also set up solar assembly/fabrication units in the state.

In power generation, the company will continue to build on its EPC, solar pump and solar rooftop businesses in the state. It targets 8 GW of utility-scale projects, 1 GW of solar rooftop and 1,50,000 solar pumps in the State.

Sinha said Rajasthan today has an installed base of 70,000 solar water pumps, which includes 20,000 systems set up by Tata Power. In rooftop solar, Tata Power has a cumulative installed capacity of 65 MW in Rajasthan.
