Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd (SWRE) announced this week it has won its largest domestic order till date by securing an INR 2,212 crore solar contract from NTPC Renewable Energy.
SWRE won this contract for NTPC Renewable Energy’s proposed 1,255 MW AC (1,568 MW DC) solar PV project in the Indian State of Gujarat. The project is located at Khavda Renewable Energy Power Park at Rann of Kutch.
Under the contract, SWRE will be responsible for design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning, and three-year operation and maintenance of the solar project.
SWRE won the project by placing the lowest bid in a competitive auction conducted by NTPC REL.
SWRE is a global pure-play, end-to-end renewable engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) solutions provider. The company provides EPC services for utility-scale solar, floating solar, hybrid and energy storage solutions. It has a total portfolio of 12.6 GWp (including projects commissioned and under various stages of construction). SWRE also manages an operation and maintenance (O&M) portfolio of around 7 GWp solar power projects, including for projects constructed by third parties. Present in 25 countries today, SWRE has operations in India, South-east Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe, Australia and the Americas.
