Tata Power announced today its arm Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has received the Letter of Award from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corp. Ltd (MSEDCL) to build a 150 MW solar project in the Solapur district of Maharashtra.
TPREL won the project through tariff-based competitive bidding followed by an e-reverse auction. The project is scheduled for commissioning within 18 months from the signing of the power purchase agreement.
With this project, TPREL’s total renewables portfolio has reached 5,786 MW, including an installed capacity of 3,877 MW (2,949 MW solar and 928 MW wind) and 1,909 MW under various stages of implementation.
