Tata Power announced today its arm Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd to set up a 200 MW solar PV project in the Solapur district of Maharashtra.
The project is set for commissioning within 18 months from the signing of the power purchase agreement (PPA). The project was awarded through competitive bidding, followed by a reverse e-auction. It is expected to offset around 432.94 million kg of CO2 emissions annually.
With this win, TPREL’s total renewables capacity has reached 6,503 MW with an installed capacity of 3,909 MW (2,981 MW solar and 928 MW wind) and 2,594 MW under various stages of implementation.
