Telangana-based WindStream Energy Technologies has crossed installation of 100 hybrid renewable energy systems, SolarMills, in the remote mountainous regions crucial for defense operations.

SolarMill, designed by WindStream Energy Technologies, is a complete renewable energy generation product. Instead of a footprint dedicated to a singular solution, it combines a unique set of vertical-axis wind turbines, top-quality solar panels, and a patented system of integrated electronics (including dynamic maximum power point tracking) to create a hybrid product with a higher energy generation per square foot.

SolarMills’ advantages include a simple ballasted installation that avoids roof penetration, higher power density per square foot, scalable power generation, custom design based on the needs, increased battery life and minimal battery storage capacity due to continuous power generation (smooth battery charging and discharging).

“The introduction of these hybrid renewable energy systems in the mountainous regions has not only reduced defense forces’ dependence on conventional energy sources but also made significant strides in promoting sustainability and environmental conservation,” stated Windstream.

“These systems empower our personnel stationed in remote areas. Reliable access to electricity and energy will enhance their capabilities, ensuring seamless communication, efficient logistics, and increased operational readiness. We have significantly strengthened our defensive capabilities in these rugged mountainous regions by establishing a self-sufficient energy infrastructure.”

WindStream Energy Technologies has an in-house manufacturing facility close to Hyderabad International Airport, India.
