Tata Power announced today it has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Co. Ltd (CSPDCL) to implement a smart metering project in the Raipur area (Raipur city and Raipur rural areas) of Chhattisgarh.
The value of the project is INR 1,744 crore ($211.53 million) and the project duration is ten years.
CSPDCL is a state-owned electricity distribution company that provides electricity to consumers across the state of Chhattisgarh.
Tata Power bagged the project through CSPDCL’s tender for three packages for different areas under it. It participated in package 2 and emerged as a winner.
The project scope includes design, supply, installation, and commissioning followed by operation and maintenance of smart meters at the consumer and the distribution transformers levels.
The project will be executed under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme and is expected to improve the aggregate technical & commercial (AT&C) losses in the designated area and increase revenue collection for CSPDCL.
