EV charge point operator Fortum Charge & Drive India has unveiled its new brand identity ‘Glida’, signifying its commitment to delivering seamless EV charging experiences for its valued customers. The company said Glida will shape the future of e-mobility through cutting-edge charging infrastructure and innovative solutions.

The ‘Charge-Thru’ offering by Glida frees EV consumers from their dependence on charging apps. EV owners can simply visit a website or scan the QR code affixed on the charger to charge their EVs at any of Glida’s networked stations. Glida has also introduced a Prepaid Rupay card in collaboration with Pine Labs. The card gives customers complete control over their money and is accepted across various retail stores, restaurants, etc.

Sanjay Agarwal, president of Fortum India, said, “We are confident that with Glida, we can pique the adoption of electric vehicles in India, further reducing reliance on fossil fuels and minimizing carbon emissions. Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond just providing charging solutions; we strive to create a comprehensive ecosystem that supports the electrification of transportation and contributes to a cleaner and greener planet.”

Awadesh Kumar Jha, executive director of Glida, said Glida aims to set up 3,000 EV charging points across India by March 2025. Currently, Glida is present across 15 states, six highways with over 450 public charging points, and a multitude of charging options including CCS, DC001, and Type 2.
