BharatBenz, in collaboration with Reliance Industries, unveiled India’s first intercity luxury concept coach powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology at the 4th Energy Transitions Working Group meeting under India’s G20 Presidency in Goa.
The coach is powered by a fuel cell system designed and developed by Reliance Industries using state-of-the-art components from international partners with significant localization, said Nitin Seth, chief executive officer- new mobility, Reliance Industries Ltd, in a LinkedIn post.
The coach can travel around 400 km on a single hydrogen fill, covering long-distance travel between cities on clean fuel like hydrogen. It will undergo extensive trials validation and safety trials over the next 12 months.
BharatBenz, a division of Daimler Truck AG, is a heavy vehicle manufacturer in India producing commercial vehicles. And, Reliance Industries is making strides into hydrogen propulsion technologies for the future.
