Genus Power Infrastructures announced today its arm has received a Letter of Award worth INR 3,121.42 crore for providing advanced metering infrastructure services.
The scope includes designing an advance metering infrastructure (AMI) system with supply, installation, commissioning, and facility management service of 36.27 lakhs smart prepaid meters and system meters, including DT Meters with corresponding energy accounting.
Genus Power Infrastructures secured the project under the Reforms-Based, Result-Linked Power Distribution Sector Scheme. The project is to be executed on a design-build-finance-own-operate transfer basis.
With this addition, Genus Power Infrastructures’ total order book is now over INR 17,000 crore.
The Government of India has launched the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme to improve the power distribution sector’s operational efficiency and financial sustainability. One of the key objectives of the scheme is to install 250 million smart meters across India.
