SJVN announced this week that Uttarakhand Power Corp. Ltd (UPCL) intends to purchase 200 MW of power from its 1 GW Bikaner solar project at a tariff of INR 2.57 per kWh. The company has secured a Letter of Intent from UPCL in this regard.
SJVN is developing the Bikaner solar project through its arm SJVN Green Energy Ltd under the CPSU Scheme, with viability gap funding support from the Government of India. The power generated from the project shall be used by government entities, either directly or through Discoms.
The project will supply solar power to UPCL as per the power purchase agreement to be signed between SGEL and UPCL in the near future.
