Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone of an 800 MW solar park in the Chitrakoot district of Uttar Pradesh.
TUSCO Ltd, a joint venture of state-owned hydropower producer THDC and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), will develop the park at a cost of around INR 4,000 crore.
The solar park will spread across nine villages. In total, 3045 acres of private land and 955 acres of government land has been identified for the project. The land will be acquired on a lease basis for 30 years.
The park is expected to be commissioned by May 2025.
