Sunsure Energy to build 300 MW of solar, 200 MW wind power plants in Tamil Nadu

Sunsure Energy, a corporate renewable energy solutions provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu to develop four renewable energy production projects with a combined capacity of 500 MW in the state.  Sunsure Energy will be investing INR 3,150 crore to set up these projects in the next three years. The announcement was made during the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2024.

The company intends to develop three solar power plants with a capacity of 100 MW each and a 200 MW wind power plant strategically positioned across the state. “The project will be set up in four locations: Tuticorin and Tirunelveli, Theni, Tiruchirapalli, and Tirunelveli and Karur, and will become operational between 2024 – 2027…The Tuticorin and Tirunelveli project is scheduled to commence in FY 2024-25,” stated the company.

Sunsure Energy is backed by Partners Group AG with a $400 million equity investment for developing over 5 GW of RE assets by 2028. Founded in 2015, Sunsure has developed and installed solar power plants for power-intensive industrial customers across 16 Indian states.
