India has installed 180,796.35 MW of renewable energy capacity as of Dec. 31, 2023. This includes 73,318.49 MW of solar power, 44,736.24 MW wind, 46,910.17 MW large hydro, 10,844.70 MW bio power, and 4,986.75 MW small hydro power projects–as per the data shared by power minister RK Singh in the parliament recently.
The cumulative PV installations of 73,318.49 MW include 56.92 GW of ground-mounted solar, 11.08 GW rooftop, 2.57 GW from solar component of hybrid projects, and 2.75 GW off-grid capacity.
Rajasthan, with 18,777.14 MW, leads in cumulative PV installations. It is followed by Gujarat (10,549.07 MW) and Karnataka (9,412.71 MW).
