SJVN announced this week its arm SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL) has secured 200 MW solar capacity in Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd’s auction for the development of 1.125 GW of PV projects in the GSECL Solar Park at Khavda, Gujarat. SGEL bagged the full bid capacity of 200 MW at a tariff of INR 2.66 ($0.032)/kWh in the tariff-based competitive bidding conducted by GUVNL.
SGEL will develop the solar project on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis. The project development cost is estimated at around INR 1,100 crore. The project is expected to generate about 504 million units (MUs) of electricity in the first year and about 11,732 MUs over a period of 25 years.
The project is scheduled for commissioning within 18 months from the date of signing of the power PPA. The PPA shall be signed between GUVNL and SGEL for 25 years.
