Stainless steel producer Viraj Profiles announced today that it has commissioned a 130 MW DC solar plant for self-consumption, in partnership with Avaada. The plant was established through a joint venture with Avaada.

The plant is located in Soyagaon, Maharashtra. The power generated will be used for Viraj Profile’s Tarapur plant.

Viraj Profiles partnered with Avaada in March 2023 to set up the solar power project as it targeted to meet 40% of its electricity consumption from solar by mid 2024.
