Shakti Pumps wins $66.65 million solar pump order

Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd announced today it has received Letter of Intent from the Department of Agriculture, Uttar Pradesh, for 12,537 solar water pumps for the entire state of Uttar Pradesh. It won this contract under Component-B of PM-KUSUM scheme (Phase-III).

Shakti Pumps’ scope includes supply, installation and commissioning of solar water pumping systems. The total value of the work order is around INR 558.16 crore ($66.65 million). The project is to be executed within 120 days from the letters of proceed.

Under Component-B of PM KUSUM Scheme, individual farmers are supported to install standalone solar agriculture pumps of capacity up to 7.5 HP for replacement of existing diesel agriculture pumps/irrigation systems in off-grid areas, where grid supply is not available. Pumps of capacity higher than 7.5 HP can also be installed, however, the financial support will be limited to 7.5 HP capacity.
