Genus Power Infrastructures announced today its wholly owned subsidiary has received three Letter of Awards (LOA) for advanced metering infrastructure projects totalling INR 3,608.52 crore ($430.85 million), net of taxes.
The scope of work includes design of advance metering infrastructure (AMI) system, supply, installation and commissioning with facility management services of about 4.26 million smart prepaid meters, system meters including distribution transformer meters with corresponding energy accounting on “design-build-finance-own-operate-transfer” (DBFOOT) basis.
Jitendra Kumar Agarwal, joint managing director, Genus Power Infrastructures, said, “With these recent orders, our total order book, including all special purpose vehicles and the GIC Platform, stands at about INR 28,000 crore (net of taxes). These concessions are for 8 to 10 years, providing clear visibility into the Company’s robust future growth.”
Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd, founded in 1995, is amongst the largest players in India’s electricity metering solutions industry, with a 27% market share. The company’s in-house R&D centre has developed smart metering solutions. It also has engineering, construction, and contracts (ECC) division which complements the existing meters business. The company has manufacturing plants across Jaipur, Haridwar and Guwahati with a total installed capacity of over 10 million meters. Its key customers include the major State electricity boards and private utilities.
