NLC lndia Ltd, a mining company under India’s Ministry of Coal, announced this week it has signed 200 MW solar power usage agreement with state-owned electricity distribution companies of Telangana. Under the agreement, it will supply 200 MW of solar power to the Discoms at a competitive price for 25 years.
The solar project, to be developed under CPSU scheme, is set to generate around 1,3000 million units of green power and help offset 90 lakh tons of carbon emission in its lifetime.
NLC said the project will be developed with single-axis trackers and domestically manufactured high-efficiency modules.
The project is set for commissioning by June 2025.
