Gautam Solar to set up 2 GW PV cell manufacturing facility

Share

Gautam Solar has announced plans to establish a 2 GW PV cell manufacturing plant with an estimated investment of INR 1,000 crore. The manufacturer said it is aligning itself with the Government of India’s guidelines on including solar cells in the Approved List of Models & Manufacturers (ALMM).
This new solar cell facility will enable Gautam Solar to meet the rising demand for DCR (domestic content requirement) panels, crucial for government-backed subsidy projects requiring locally manufactured components.

Gautam Solar has already acquired a 60-acre land parcel in Bhiwani, Haryana, for expansion of its solar panel manufacturing capacity and setting up a raw material manufacturing plant. However, it’s still open to considering other locations based on the overall ecosystem. By vertically integrating its operations, the company will further expand its capabilities, complementing its already operational solar module manufacturing plant in Haridwar and the upcoming module manufacturing expansion in Bhiwani.

With its corporate office in New Delhi, India, Gautam Solar is in the process of expanding its solar module capacity to 3 GWp by 2024-25 and to 5 GWp by 2025-26.
