Rays Power Infra announced it has been awarded a 600 kW/3000 kWh vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) project by NTPC for its R&D division NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (NETRA). It won the project through competitive bidding in an auction by NTPC.
As per the tender document, the scope of work includes supply, installation, commissioning and integration of the vanadium redox flow battery storage system of 600 kW/3,000 kWh at NETRA, NTPC, Greater Noida.
Vanadium redox flow battery storage technology offers long-duration energy storage, crucial for grid stability and the large-scale integration of renewable energy.
This is the first project in India with vanadium redox flow battery technology for providing five hours of power storage, stated Rays Power Infra.
Rays Power Infra Ltd has commissioned over 1.6 GWp of renewable energy assets across India and Southeast Asia. It is currently executing another 1 GWp of projects in India and developing over 2.5 GW of renewable energy parks.
