Ginlong (Solis), world’s third largest solar inverter manufacturer, has hit 6 GW of shipments in India. The company has surpassed the 100 GW milestone in global shipments.
Solis, which caters to residential, commercial and industrial (C&I) and utility-scale PV in India, holds the biggest market share (32%) in supplies to the residential segment with supplies of close to four lakh units to this segment.
Within the residential sector in India, Solis offers 1-10 kW products. “Out of our entire 1-10 kW range for residential segment, 1-5 kW inverters are in more in demand. With the launch of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, we have designed these products in a very short span of time to optimize the cost and provide a robust and stable product. The inverters have built-in arc fault circuit interrupter (AFCI) to detect the arc fault on the DC circuit and shut down the inverter to prevent fire,” Solis team told pv magazine.
In the C&I sector, Solis commands a 40% market share in India with most of the demand coming for the 80-100/110 kW products. At REI Expo 2024 this year, the company has launched its 150 kW grid-tied inverter for the C&I sector. The product, S6-GC3P (125-150)K, is a three-phase string inverter. With an MPPT current of up to 48 A, it is suited for 182/210 mm high-power modules and supports more than a 150%DC/AC ratio, providing more yield.
